Random Fandom 2016

Are you a fan? Is your whole family? Then join us for the Louisville Free Public Library’s second Random Fandom event at the Southwest Regional Library on Saturday, March 26, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Whatever fandom you represent, you can celebrate it—and find tons of other event-goers who are eager to share their fandoms with you.

This day-long convention starts with programming for kids and families (10 a.m.–noon), followed by teen and adult activities in the afternoon (1:00–4:30 p.m.). Kids and families can look forward to making Shrinky Dinks and magnets, a Lego activity station, and other fun, fandom-related games. Teens and adults can anticipate a cosplay contest with prizes, a Star Wars trivia contest, a 3D printer, zombie make-up demos, and much more. We’ll have lots of prizes, too!

Two major highlights make this year’s Random Fandom noteworthy. One is a special exhibit featuring the collection of New York Times bestselling Star Wars author and archaeologist David West Reynolds. The other is an appearance by local artist and “Illest-strator” Kevlen Goodner, who will lead a portfolio review and instructional class for teens/adults. REGISTER FOR RANDOM FANDOM BY MONDAY, MARCH 21 FOR A CHANCE TO GET YOUR PORTFOLIO REVIEWED!

The convention is FREE and open to fans of all ages. Registration begins at 9 a.m., or you can go to LFPL.org/RandomFandom to sign up online. Once you’ve officially registered, let us know on this event page!

Remember to use #RandomFandom and tag @louisvillefreepubliclibrary on your Instagram posts!
