Hideaway Saloon

Hideaway Saloon

The Hideaway Saloon was a dream come true for musician Jim Allen. After working relentlessly playing music for other bar owners and experiencing first-hand the long hours, dedication, and sacrifice, that generally went unappreciated, Jim decided to open his own place; a place where musicians could go to not only as a venue, but also a place that treated them well.

Starting back in 1992, Jim began the long and difficult challenge of creating one of Louisville’s finest music venues, offering all varieties of live music from all over the world. From permits and licensing to picking up lumber and refrigeration parts (that others threw out), Jim did it all and in April, 1996 The Hideaway Saloon opened its doors.

Although he doesn’t have to do it all anyone, his son Jesse has partnered with him; you can still find him bartending, playing music, booking the bands, or fixing the toilets at The Hideaway.

The Hideaway also hosts video game nights.
