Steven Wu Joins Nerd Louisville’s Board of Directors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 20, 2016) — Nerd Louisville today announced that Hanzhe “Steven” Wu has been elected to Nerd Louisville’s board of directors.

Wu hails from a small fishing village on the coast of China. He left Shanghai in 1990 and has lived in numerous of these United States. Bi-coastal since graduating from college, he’s made his home in Kentucky (for now). Dungeons & Dragons is his poison, but in all honesty, he’s been nerdy since he first picked up an NES controller pad.

“We’re excited to have Steven on our board,” said Mike Pfaff, president of Nerd Louisville. “Steven has been actively participating and contributing to Nerd Louisville since our inception. His vast skill set and talents will bolster us and push us in new directions.”

The addition of Wu increases Nerd Louisville’s board of directors to four members, though Pfaff said they are continually looking to expand and diversify the board by bringing in nerds who are active with the group and willing to contribute to its success. In addition to Wu, Nerd Louisville’s board of directors consists of Mike Pfaff, president; Joe Dunman, vice president; and Andrew Bates, secretary & treasurer.

Founded in 2015, Nerd Louisville’s mission is to make Louisville, Ky. the most awesome nerd city in the universe by providing a hub to connect local nerds to diverse nerd activities, by providing resources to empower local nerd groups, and by promoting Louisville as a nerd destination.

Mike is the co-founder of Nerd Louisville and still volunteers from time-to-time. He's been a nerd since he was first introduced to Dungeons & Dragons when he was a wee lad and continues playing to this day. You can play games with him at Slur Your Role or other Nerd Louisville events.
