Louisville Give For Good

This year Nerd Louisville is participating in Give for Good Louisville, an annual day of giving hosted by the Community Foundation of Greater Louisville on Thursday, September 12. We are seeking to raise $1000 to support our youth and inclusive gaming initiatives like Young Questors and Girls Nerd Out.

Give for Good Louisville isn’t just a day for online donations; it’s a time that sparks kindness across all ages and unites communities for the greater good. Since its launch in 2014, communities across Kentucky and Southern Indiana have raised over $60 million for local organizations. The organizations that benefit from Give for Good Louisville reflect our community’s values by addressing unmet needs, creating innovative solutions, and proactively driving positive change.

NerdLouvia Update From The President

Dear Nerd Louisville Community,

We, the Nerd Louisville Board of Directors have made the difficult decision to not hold our annual local convention, NerdLouvia, this year. While this may come as a surprise, we want to assure you that this choice is part of an exciting shift within our organization.

We are currently rebranding and refocusing our efforts to better align with our mission of giving back to the community. As part of this new direction, we are planning more events aimed at supporting and inspiring the youth, fostering the next generation of nerds, and encouraging a love for all things nerdy.

Rest assured, this doesn’t mean we’re leaving our long-time supporters behind! We’re actively exploring fresh opportunities to host exciting events for everyone—those of you who make our community vibrant and passionate.

Thank you for your continued understanding and support as we embark on this new chapter for Nerd Louisville. Stay tuned for updates, and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events!

Jonathon Myhre

President

Volunteer Appreciation

Doing what we do would be impossible without the help and support of our community and volunteers. You guys do so much by showing up to run games, support our events and sharing your creativity with our community. Which is why we are very excited to announce a new rewards program for all Nerd Louisville volunteers!

Going into effect with our 150th Slur Your Role, volunteers who donate 12 hours (3 game sessions) of their time running games or helping at one of our events will get a free ticket for one of our events (like Slur Your Role or Friday Night Gaming) or a Nerd Louisville t-shirt! All you have to do is fill out our volunteer form, come run a game or help us out, and we’ll be keeping track of volunteer hours and you’ll hear from our event committee when you qualify for a reward!

(Note: If you volunteer for an event and your table is canceled or doesn’t run because of lack of a critical mass of players, you will not qualify for the volunteer hours, but will be welcome to participate in a different session at that day’s event for free.)
