NerdLouisville, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with a mission to uplift education and foster community through the creative power of games, storytelling, and imagination. We’re committed to transforming Louisville, Kentucky, where creativity thrives, and everyone can find a place to belong.

For 2025, we’re inviting our community of gamers to create a featured scenario for an exciting upcoming fundraiser. On March 15, 2025, in partnership with the Ohio Valley Educational Foundation (OVEF), NerdLouisville will help facilitate a one-shot, live-streamed D&D5e game with local educators and staff. The highlight of the event will be your scenario—the winning entry from this contest—run live for the world to see!

Your challenge is to design an original D&D 5th Edition scenario that embodies a family-friendly, PG-13 theme. The scenario should be an engaging, flexible adventure, centered on a classic “good vs. evil” theme, and allow for entertaining interruptions from live donations that can impact the game in real time.

All funds raised will go to OVEF to further their mission. This is your chance to make a lasting impact by contributing to an unforgettable experience that supports education and community. Join us at NerdLouisville—a place where anyone can create, imagine, and belong.

Shoutout to our Partners and Volunteers

As the leaves fall and the chill of November settles in, we find ourselves reflecting on the incredible community that surrounds us. This month, more than ever, we are reminded of the gratitude we owe to the amazing people who make what we do possible.

First, a heartfelt thank you to some of the incredible individuals and businesses who go above and beyond to support us:

If we’ve accidentally left anyone out, please know it was not intentional. There’s not enough space—or enough words—to express how much each of you means to us.

We are truly blessed to be part of such a vibrant, supportive, and nerdy community. You all inspire us every day, and we’re honored to share this adventure with you.

Thank you for being part of our story as we (Nerd Louisville) continue to make Louisville better.

Going into effect with our 150th Slur Your Role, volunteers who donate 12 hours (3 game sessions) of their time running games or helping at one of our events will get a free ticket for one of our events (like Slur Your Role or Friday Night Gaming) or a Nerd Louisville t-shirt! All you have to do is fill out our volunteer form, come run a game or help us out, and we’ll be keeping track of volunteer hours and you’ll hear from our event committee when you qualify for a reward!

(Note: If you volunteer for an event and your table is canceled or doesn’t run because of lack of a critical mass of players, you will not qualify for the volunteer hours, but will be welcome to participate in a different session at that day’s event for free.)

Nerd Louisville is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the state of Kentucky and your gifts are considered tax-deductible contributions.
